Tanya joined the firm as a Senior Solicitor in November 2006, and has specialised in employment law (including in the public law and education context) since her admission as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1996. Previously, Tanya’s experience has included work in private practice and as in-house Counsel for public sector and education unions and for local government and the Ministry of Education. She has worked in London and Glasgow where she developed a specialism in the area of discrimination and employment issues arising on mergers and acquisitions. She returned to New Zealand after working as an Associate in employment law in the Employment, Pensions and Incentives Team of Dundas & Wilson (one of Scotland’s largest law firms).
Tanya has acted as Counsel in the Employment Relations Authority (previously the Employment Tribunal), the Employment Court, and as Junior Counsel in the Court of Appeal. She has also delivered numerous training seminars for a wide range of clients.
